QBiT Wins 3rd Place!
The LIMBS Summit is a great opportunity for students all across the world to research, explore and share their progress on innovative medical device solutions that can make a difference on the lives of people who truly need it.
The 4th annual LIMBS Summit design competition took place on June 3rd, 2016 in cooperation with the University of Texas at El Paso-College of Engineering. The competition involved designing and prototyping low-cost prosthetic and orthotic technologies for people in developing countries.
The LIMBS Summit application consisted of a 2-page team proposal that included the teams goals, preliminary sketches and overall objectives. All teams were also required to submit an abstract and present it at the Summit. Three members of the Queen's Biomedical Innovation Team presented the KAFO prototype to the judges on June 3rd, and were very pleased to receive third place! We are very proud of our accomplishments and look forward to exploring and researching more biomedical technologies in the future.
